Aw that’s so nice to hear! It really was such an interesting religion. And each temple basically has a gift shop where you can buy talismans for that Kami’s speciality and also collect goshuins (basically hand written stamps that show you visited that place). It really made me understand Pokémon lol.

You are so correct in that if you waited another year you wouldn’t be able to do it. It’s a really good thing that the two of you realized you wanted to do this trip and did it now. The older we get (at least for me) the harder it is to get motivated for travel. Especially a massive trip like you two have done. The unknown for me the older I get just becomes a chore and unpleasant. Well, maybe it’s the actual planning of the trip that has become unpleasant for me more so than the unknown?
